Cory is a native of Alberta, Canada and moved to the Pikes Peak Region in 2004 to work in as a test engineer for a bicycle component manufacturer, choosing to live in the Pikes Peak region because of the abundant outdoor recreation opportunities. He lives with his wife Andrea, a Springs native, in Manitou Springs.
Dr. Sutela has served on several community volunteer boards including the Trails and Open Space Coalition, COS Parks SuperFriends, Bike Colorado Springs, Bear Creek Roundtable and the Ped & Cycle group of Manitou (PaC-Man). He is familiar with all aspects of MWTA’s operations, having volunteered as a crew leader, trail designer, events coordinator, partnership manager, advocacy chair and liaison with land managers and other user groups.
As Executive Director his primary responsibility is to ensure that MWTA has the structure, funding, and volunteer workforce needed for us to grow and advance our mission.
