Trail Committee, Wheel of Fame

Mike has a long history with bikes. He and his wife have ridden across Arizona three times and completed a number state tours. More recently, he discovered mountain bikes and became hooked. While working for a small town in Arizona, he co-founded a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (Desert Foothills Mountain Bike Association) and developed a mountain bike race to support open space land acquisition. Now in it’s 12th year, the Cave Creek Cactus Classic is an iconic mountain bike race through scenic Sonoran Desert which draws racers from all over the country.

Mike has been on the Board of Medicine Wheel for 5 years and has worked on a number of Medicine Wheel projects including the design and construction of the bridge over Bear Creek linking the two ends of Stephanie’s Trail and was instrumental in securing the Colorado State Trails Grant to build the Lake Moraine Trail.
