New Trails at the Concrete Coyote

MedWheel proudly partners with community leaders Concrete Couch, including designing and building trails at the Coyote. What’s the Coyote? It’s Concrete Couch’s property located at 1100 S Royer Street. It’s a former industrial site that is being transformed into a community amenity similar to a public park.

The mission of Concrete Couch is to work with kids and community groups to create public art, to build community, and to create environments and experiences that humanize our world. Together we’ve hosted several trail construction volunteer opportunities onsite, and we frequently visit the Coyote for ‘bike and build’ trail days, on the last Sunday of the month – check in with Jorge to confirm the next opportunity.

Pumptrack construction

MedWheel worked with an Eagle Scout from Troop 8 to create a pumptrack at the Coyote. The track was based on the EASY pumptrack concept which uses cardboard forms filled with gravel and dirt to rapidly construct a pumptrack. The work was supported by Bill’s Tool Rental and SiteOne – C and C as well as Scouting America and Concrete Couch.

Events at the Coyote

In addition to trail development our partnership with Concrete Couch includes events at the Coyote Location – including a Rock the Vote event focused on the city of Colorado Springs elections and TOPS extension ballot measure.

Concrete Coyote Trail Planning

In 2022 MedWheel created a trail plan proposal for Concrete Couch, which you can view below.
