Rock The Vote at the 'Yote
Location: Concrete Couch, Coyote location 1100 S Royer Street. map
Time: Saturday Mar 18 from 2-8pm. Fair weather event - if we need to cancel we will post it here.
The event is free to attend and open to all. We will have an afternoon BBQ with food available for a $5 donation, thanks to Concrete Couch. Family friendly event.
Rock the Vote at the 'Yote is focused on raising awareness about the April election in our community, and encouraging engagement in our democratic process.
An April election usually has low turnout which means your vote carries more weight than ever. We encourage community-minded and outdoors-oriented people to learn about issues and cast your vote in April. In particular MedWheel encourages your support of the TOPS program extension which is ballot issue #1 in April.
.
The event will feature LIVE MUSIC from the Concrete Couch Jam Band from 2-330, and jamming continuing afterwards. Our friends at Subcaste Sound will continue the party 330pm. Subcaste DJ's include Chazie 1 Love with a special reggae mix, followed by the fresh house sounds of DJs ReLief and Abacus. Fire performances and flow dancing with the CS Flowmies and the Conflagration Station.
.
The trails onsite at the Coyote will be open for walking and riding, including the new Upsadaisy trail. Free loaner bikes and helmets are available. Tours of the amazing Coyote property will be given throughout the event. Pikes Peak Climbers Alliance will be on hand for a bouldering jam at the Coyote's very own climbing wall.
We will also be joined by our friends from Mile High Youth Corps and UpaDowna.
.
CELEBRATE DEMOCRACY!
We will have onsite voter registration, coordinated by MedWheel and our partners at the League of Women Voters of the Pikes Peak Region. Information about ballot issue #1 , the TOPS program extension, will be available. We are inviting all candidates to attend the event to engage with voters.
