CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates’ mission is to Build, Share and Protect inspiring trail experiences in the Pikes Peak Region. We are mountain bikers at heart, and seek passionate trail users of any ability to join our team!  All styles of riding as well as non-riders who share a passion for our mission are welcome.  If you’re interested in getting involved please contact us at volunteer@medwheel.org . 

We need volunteers for all our committees.  We’re particularly seeking these competencies & experience:

    • Stakeholder relationship management
    • Position paper writing
    • Public meeting attendance
    • Project management
  • Communications Committee
    • Social media management
    • Event planning, coordination, and attendance
    • Newsletter production
    • Website content development and management
    • Photography and video production
    • Graphic design
    • Merchandise program management
  • Development Committee
    • Grant writing 
    • Fundraising 
    • Membership program management
    • Business sponsorship development
  • Trail Committee
    • Experienced crew leaders
    • Trail design, construction and maintenance
    • Equipment operator
    • Project management 
  • Connections to current or future partner organizations:
    • User groups (especially hiking & trail running)
    • Friends groups – groups that care for city, county, regional & state parks
    • Riding groups & Clubs
    • Schools, Military, Faith-based orgs
    • Land managers, public entities

We are committed to a welcoming and fulfilling volunteer experience, where you have the opportunity to learn about trail design and construction, leadership, project management, and other skills as part of a positive and supportive team.

We have open board positions available for volunteers that commit to our team.

Board terms are 3 years and are renewable.  Board meetings approximately once a month.

You will help ‘steer the ship’ – plan and evaluate priorities, projects and programs. 

You will help with our financial stability – being involved with fundraising programs.

You will represent the organization publicly, at social events and public meetings.

You will help us recruit additional volunteers – find your replacement!
