Action Alert: Help Shape the Future of Our Parks

The City of Colorado Springs is currently updating its Parks Master Plan, and they need to hear from the people who know the dirt best: you. We are asking the MedWheel community to take two quick but powerful actions to advocate for our trails and the volunteers who sustain them.

1. Speak Up for the Trails You Love (Deadline: Feb 13)

The City’s Parks Master Plan will dictate how our outdoor spaces are managed, funded, and protected for the next decade. This is our chance to ensure that sustainable mountain bike trails and outdoor access remain a priority.

2. Empower Our Volunteers (Deadline: Jan 30)

If you have picked up a pulaski or a shovel with MedWheel or any volunteer group in the past year, the City wants your feedback! This is a critical moment to advocate for more “Trail Love.”

Why This Matters

By giving trained volunteers more ability to lead trail work, we can respond faster to trail needs, reduce maintenance backlogs, and put your passion to work more effectively. Your voice helps the City understand that our community is ready, willing, and professional enough to care for the lands we love.

THANK YOU for speaking up for the trails that you love.
